摘要
A fiber bending sensor by splicing a segment of two mode fiber to the single mode fiber is proposed.The two mode fiber with an external diameter (fiber core diameter) of 145 mu m (17.65 mu m) can only support the fundamental mode (LP01 mode) and the second mode (LP11 mode), which results in an interfering spectrum of the fiber bending sensor. The interfering spectrum has an extinction ratio of about 10 dB in 1.55 mu m window, and the fiber bending curvature is measured corresponding to the shift of the interfering spectrum.
