Cooperative Sensing at the MAC Level in Simple Cognitive Personal Area Networks

摘要
We investigate the performance of simple cognitive personal area network (CPAN) with cooperative sensing among the nodes and CPAN coordinator. Nodes are equipped with small buffers of capacity K packets, and each node is allowed to transmit a batch of up to mu packets in one transmission cycle. Upon transmission, each node must support the operation of the CPAN by performing sensing duty. We model this system through probabilistic analysis and a queuing model, and demonstrate the tradeoff between the accuracy of cooperative spectrum sensing and node's ability to communicate.
