摘要：
Long period waves with periods of 1 similar to 5 minutes sometimes terminate cargo handling and cause breaking of mooring ropes in several major Japanese ports. Reduction of amplitudes of long period waves is of gear importance for safe operation of loading and un-loading. Field observation and physical testing for long period waves were carried out to investgate the effect of breakwaters as a countermeasure.
