摘要
The design and the characteristics of a single phase linear induction motor producing reciprocating motion is described. Its magnetic circuit has been designed to ensure that the force does not decline rapidly with the amplitude of oscillation of the plunger. Although excited by a sinusoidally time varying voltage source, the device, when it is in operation, is always in the transient state. Hence the analytical tool developed for its design and analysis is based on axisymmetric, transient, time-stepping, non-linear, eddy current, finite elements which includes rotor motion. The moving plunger tube is moved in predetermined, discrete spatial increments in variable time steps which are determined by the solution of the transient electromechanical equations describing its motion.
