The role of NAFTA in international trade of forest products was examined in this paper. It was shown that the gradual removal of tariffs and other trade barriers has led to substantial expansion of trade in forest products and other products. It was also shown that, NAFTA countries (Canada and the United States in particular) were the most dominant exporters and importers of all wood products traded in the world between the years of 2000 and 2004. The paper also offers some suggestions for increasing the participation of minority professionals in international trade of forest products.
