AE Monitoring of Cellulose Fiber Reinforced Concrete Beams Under Bending

ASTM C78, the flexural strength tests were conducted on Cellulose Fiber Reinforced Concrete (CFRC) specimens subjected to difference moisture-levels. Acoustic Emission (AE) sensors were attached on specimens to detect the signature characteristics of CFRC under bending. AE signals at different fracture levels were correlated with constitutional relationship of CFRC. Analysis results indicate that abrupt increase of cumulative AE energy, high range of amplitude and AE counts corresponds to the occurrence of inelastic phase and final damage of CFRC beams under bending.
