Application of active material composite structure in semi-active suspension of vehicles

摘要
The paper discusses semi-active vehicle suspensions and application of active materials in them. The active material composite structure exhibiting self-adaptive damping properties is proposed. The system is based on the piezoelectric material exploitation together with electrorheological fluid. It allows to make fluid viscosity controllable in response to the displacement, velocity or displacement signal obtained from a piezoelectrical transducer.
