摘要：

This paper describes how new courses in environmental management system (EMS) based on international Standardisation Organisation (ISO)14000 series of standards were designed and implemented at Donetsk State Technical University (DonSTU). Good understanding of scientific and engineering environmental issues together with principles and strategy of environmental management and sustainable development is considered as a vital aspect of engineering education for Ukrainian students. International links of DonSTU faculty were beneficially used in designing the EMS courses. The paper presents the main ideas and topics of the ISO14000 EMS curriculum introduced at DonSTU in 1997/98 academic year.
