An experience of reading the work of Joao Guimaraes Rosa in Communities of the Urucuia Valley

In this report we discuss about a research related to the reception of the work of Joao Guimaraes Rosa in the Valley of Urucuia, scenery of part of the novel Grande Sertao: Veredas. The main objective of the research was to take the reading of the Rosians texts to the communities that are located in the territory that inspired the author. In addition, it was also aimed at developing literary literacy in the same region. We highlight the "dialogical ring-around-the-rosie " as an effective methodological procedure, since the participants of the project became involved with the texts, even with the pre-formed idea that the author's reading is difficult and for a select group. The proposal covered 5 communities in the region and, from the report, positive results are observed in relation to the reading of Joao Guimaraes Rosa in the interior of the country: first, the most humble and with little formal education have full conditions to read the work of the author; Second, literary literacy, as well as other literatures, can be developed if care is taken with the strategies applied for this purpose.
