Frequency and time domain analysis of microstrip lines with multiple right-angle bend discontinuities

摘要
Frequency-dependent scattering matrices for the composite transmission structures of single microstrip lines having two right-angle bend discontinuities have been determined. The scattering parameters found by a mode-matching technique are used in the computations of the time domain responses for trapezoidal pulse inputs. From the time domain responses the delays, distortions and reflections are found. The contributions of higher-order modes, which may be significant in deciding the signal flow behaviour in these types of transmission structure, are also identified.
