摘要
"A few too often neglected aspects of Delphi's accounts: from the new amphictionic to Olympia's crowns" Delphi was in the IVth century the place of a complex monetary reform, the epikatallage, which modified the relations between the Eginetic and Attic standards. It was of a considerable import: as a matter of fact, the new balances did irretrievably alter the modalities of monetary exchanges and the relations between the metals since it was the first substantial modification of the bronze-silver ratio since the creation of money. The parallel stamping of an amphictionic money and its substitution by Alexander the Great's imperial money make it clear that this audacious reform cannot have been worked out anywhere else than at Delphi before receiving from Delphi a universal application, thus testifying most concretely to the indisputable "international" role then played by the Amphictiony. Numismatists, led astray by bad habits, find it difficult to grasp its full measure; disorientated epigraphists weakly realize its impact, to the extent offailing to grasp the whole complexity of the cash dealings relating to the famous gold crowns of Olympias, to the making of which the Amphictiony had devoted a "capital" of 190 darics that were never smelted. After those darics had come back to the cash desk, there took place under The on the archont an overhauling of the accounts which was the occasion to delete the sums unduly inscribed as receipts. This highly complex dossier, the object of contradictory hypotheses for nearly a century, will find its solution to the sole condition of inscribing it into the very context of the epikatallage.
