CAREER DECISION DIFFICULTIES

The article presents the first outputs of the process of adapting the questionnaire for the diagnosis of difficulties in career choices and compares the data obtained from four-year students and eight-year secondary schools in the extent of these difficulties. Research participated 159 respondents from 69 boys and 90 girls aged 16-18 years, with an average age of 17.01 years. At four-year secondary schools studied 68 subjects (third year attending) and eigh-year secondary schools 91 respondents (attended septima). Factor analysis confirmed the existence of seven factors relevant to the difficulties in career choices such as: lack of motivation, lack of information about schools, lack of labor market information, lack of information about themselves, lack of information on how to make a career decision, total indecision and internal conflicts. Results showed that between students of four and eight secondary schools there were no significant differences in total score questionnaire to identify difficulties neither in the choice of profession nor in its individual subscales.
