摘要
The effect of variation in pigment particle size distribution (PSD) on coating colour properties and paper performance were investigated. The results indicated that pigments with narrow PSD (smaller particle size) could enhance the performance of coated paper. Narrow PSD and bulkier packing structure resulted in high opacity of paper and excellent coverage providing high smoothness and print gloss to art paper. By careful selection of rheology modifiers and latex, good coater runnability can be achieved with these pigments.
