摘要
Fibrous residues generated in isolation of pectin and L-arabinose by acidic and enzymatic hydrolysis of sugar beet pulp can be utilised as environmentally friendly additives for the improvement of paper strength properties and simultaneously as partial replacement of wood fibres in paper manufacture. Influence of hydrolysed sugar beet pulp fibrous residues on wood fibre suspensions and laboratory handsheets properties was compared with the effects of non-hydrolysed sugar beet pulp addition along with spruce stone groundwood beating. (Beating, a physical treatment of pulp fibres favourably affects the physical properties of fibres for paper making). Effects of sugar beet pulp addition on fibre suspensions and laboratory handsheets properties prepared from spruce stone groundwood increased in the sequence: non-acid-and enzyme-hydrolysed sugar beet pulps. Tensile, burst and internal bond strength of laboratory handsheets increased with increasing content of non-and hydrolysed sugar beet pulp in spruce stone groundwood furnish. The influence of non-and hydrolysed sugar beet pulp addition on drainage time, water retention value, bending resistance and porosity of laboratory handsheets from spruce stone groundwood was adverse. Consequently, the content of fibrous residues from enzymatic hydrolysis in spruce stone groundwood furnishes should not exceed 5-10% and the content of fibrous residues from acidic hydrolysis 10-15%. Non-hydrolysed sugar beet pulp content in spruce stone groundwood furnish can be up to 15-20%. Addition of non-, acid- and enzyme-hydrolysed sugar beet pulp to spruce groundwood furnishes increased strength properties more than beating.
