Transition metal ferrites with general formula AB(2)O(4) (A= Co, Cu, Mn, Zn, B= Fe+3) could be used as an anode materials in lithium ion battery (LIB), because, lithium ion batteries fabricated using ferrite materials show the high capacity than commonly used graphite. The ZnFe2O4 with cubic spinel structured material was prepared by acrylamide assisted citrate combustion process. Phase, structural coordination and thermal behavior of the prepared ZnFe2O4 were confirmed by powder X-ray diffraction, FTIR spectra and TG/DTA thermogram respectively. Morphology and specific surface area of the ZnFe2O4 were identified by SEM and BET surface analyzer respectively and its conductivity studies were made through impedance spectroscopy.
