Trapping of Cu2+ and VO2+ ions in conducting polymer matrices -: EPR studies

摘要
EPR spectra were recorded in order to prove complexation of Cu2+ and VO2+ ions by some conducting polymers. Poly(1,8-diaminonaphtalene), poly(1,5-diaminonaphtalene) and poly(o-aminophenol) matrices were used to trap these ions. The g values for the studied comlexes are significantly higher as compared with the respective values for aqua complexes of vanadium and copper (II) salts (e.g. VOSO4. 5H(2)O and CuSO4. 5H(2)O). It was interpreted in terms of spin-orbit interaction and delocalization of unpaired electron on the polymeric ligands. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
