摘要
Demand of electrical energy is increasing day by day. We need better grids to reduce the stress on power system by making it more reliable and secured. Smart grid (SG) is a new technology towards the conventional grids due to its two ways communication and multi-featured properties. Advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) is a key goal towards the modernization of existing grids and an active area of research. AMI gathers the data of active demand, faults in power system, low voltage profile, billing information and various security alarms. In this paper we proposed a metering network that collects the real-time load data for smart grid and monitors the theft detection, line losses in distribution network and optimized scheduling of renewable energy resources. In proposed method we use energy meters having ZigBee protocol as Home Area Network (HAN) and information is gathered by control center at Distribution Transformer that acts as a local control center. The local control center can send and receive information to a remote-control center i.e. Master Data Management Center (MDMC) via Neighborhood Area Network (NAN). All the data gathered from different local control center by MDMC is analyzed and a real-time load data is achieved. The proposed scheme is found effective both in communication architecture and security of the smart grid.
