摘要
A flask of uncommon form, ware and decoration, and its parallels, throw new light on internal networks in Cyprus at the Middle/Late Bronze Age transition. The distribution of this rare ceramic type directly reflects the communication routes along which goods and innovative ideas circulated at this time. A main route connected the east and the north-west coast with the cupriferous zone of central Cyprus, while the coastal terminals functioned as gateways to an overseas network of metal trade. All the main characteristics of this flask type are derived from local ceramic tradition. Connections with the Aegean, Anatolia and the Levant are also evident.
