摘要
The stability of linseed oil varnish and alkyd resin in water emulsions stabilized by non-ionic and anionic surface-active agents has been studied. The following surface-active agents were used: non-ionic - products of ethylene or propylene oxides addition to nonylphenol; oxyethylene lauryl alcohol or fatty alcohol, block copolymer of ethylene and propylene oxides; anionic - addition of sodium oil alcohol sulfate salt and ethylene oxide and alkylbenzenosulfonic acid and its sodium salt characterized by the highest surface activity. A synergetic effect was observed in the mixtures of non-ionic oxyethylene surface-active agents with anionic ones in water solutions. The most stable linseed oil varnish in water emulsions was obtained using ethylene or propylene oxides addition to nonylphenol together with alkylbenzenosulfonic acid and its sodium salt and polyvinyl alcohol. In the case of alkyd resin, the best emulsifiers turned out to be the non-ionic surface-active agents such as ethylene or propylene oxides addition to nonylphenol, oxyethylene fatty alcohol, block copolymer of ethylene and propylene oxides, and polyvinyl alcohol. The stability can be improved by xylene and butanol addition as well as by increasing the resin concentration to 50% by weight.
