Synthesis, characterization and microbiological activity of a Zn(II) complex of a novel benzofurazan derivative

摘要
Complex formation of Zn(II) and Al(III) ions with a novel 4-nitro-benzofurazan-cyclam conjugate has been investigated by H-1-NMR and electronic (UV-vis and fluorescence) spectroscopy in dimethylsulfoxide. A stable Zn(II) complex [Zn(P1)(NO3)(2)] has been isolated, characterised, and in vitro its antimicrobial activity was tested. Good antibacterial activity against several Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria and antifungal activity against two yeasts has been observed.
