摘要
We propose a new electrowetting-on-dielectric (EWOD) configuration using amorphous CYTOP (TM) layer as both the insulating and hydrophobic layer. Sessile droplet experiments demonstrated the water contact angle can decrease up to 25 degrees during electrowetting and the coating showed good durability. Typical droplet manipulations including transportation, mixing and splitting were achieved with 60 DCV power supply, which is significantly lower than previous report using other coating material such as poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS). Hence, this simplified EWOD configuration using CYTOP (TM) may have potential applications in many areas related with digital microfluidics.
