摘要
An improved facet-based Two-scale model (TSM) is proposed to providing a more accurate result in evaluating the radar cross section (RCS) from 2-D electrically large sea surface. The integral equation method (IEM) is used to calculate the Bragg components for the elementary radar returns from each facet. Compared with small perturbation method (SPM), IEM has a wider application range. Kirchhoff approximation (KA) is still kept in the model to compute specular component from each facet. The electromagnetic (EM) backscattering results obtained by the proposed facet model are more consistency with measured data than the classical facet model at small and medium incident angles. Finally, SAR imaging of sea surface and ship wake are performed by the proposed method.
