Fiber-length extension in an optical 60-GHz transmission system using an EA-modulator with negative chirp

摘要
By optimizing the driving conditions of a high-speed electroabsorption modulator, we achieved a significant fiber-length extension and dispersion penalty reduction in a 60-GHz millimeter-wave indoor fiber-optic transmission system. In particular, we demonstrate simultaneous transmission of two 156-Mb/s data channels in the 60-GHz band over 1409-m standard single-mode fiber without employing an additional dispersion compensation technique.
