摘要
Reliability, factor structure and construct validity of Harter's Self-Perception Profile for Children P. Babinea, G. Mikulaskova, I. Kovalcikova Objectives. The goal of the study was to verify the reliability and construct validity of the Slovak version of the Self-Perception Profile for Children (SPPC) method for self-perception assessment in children. Subjects and setting. The research sample consisted of 154 pupils of fourth and fifth classes. A complementary scale aimed at actual behavior evaluation by the teacher - Teacher Rating Scale of Child's Actual Behaviour - and Coopersmith Self-Esteem Inventory for self-evaluation were included in the study. Statistical methods. The exploration factor analysis led to a factor solution similar to the original method. The confirmation factor analysis refers to good correspondence of data to original model. Results. The inter-correlations of subscales suggest that the scales measure a similar construct with content differences corresponding to different aspects of self-perception. The comparison of groups according to age and gender, and correlations to further instruments assessing the analogical construct provide similar results as given by other authors what supports the construct validity of the method. The Self-Perception Profile for Children method can be recommended for assessment of self-perception indicators in Slovak language context. Study limits. The reliability of test score attained moderate values what limits the use of the method in groups.
