摘要
Wireless Full-Duplex (FD) communication can double point-to-point throughput. By applying the FD technique to multi-hop networks, the throughput enhancement is expected. Developing an analytical model for FD multi-hop networks is an effective way for not only clarifying such network dynamics but also developing the optimal protocol design. The two kinds of the FD Medium Access Control (MAC) protocols have been proposed: asynchronous FD MAC and synchronous one. Synchronous FD MAC utilizes control frames, whereas asynchronous FD MAC does not utilize. Some studies have proposed analytical expressions for multi-hop networks with asynchronous FD MAC. However, these models cannot apply to analysis for multi-hop networks with synchronous FD MAC because the operations of control-frame exchanging for each node are not considered. This paper proposes analytical expressions for the end-to-end throughput of multi-hop networks with synchronous FD MAC. Establishing the proposed model enables fundamental evaluation between two kinds of FD MAC protocols, which is one of the contributions in this paper. End-to-end throughput for multihop networks with synchronous FD MAC for any numbers of hops and any payload sizes can be obtained from the proposed model. The analytical expressions are verified by comparisons with simulation results.
