摘要
With the change to renewable energies one of the main challenges of the energy turnaround is the balancing of energy production and consumption. Due to the volatile energy production a strong demand for reserve energy exists. This reserve energy is most economically produced by pumped hydro. Existing water reservoirs can be used as a lower (or upper) storage basin, if the construction of the site meets certain conditions. Times of declining drinking water lead to economic opportunities for some of the former drinking water reservoirs.
