Properties and advantages of advanced wet mix sprayed concrete systems

摘要
The reluctance to utilise the benefits of permanent shotcrete tunnel linings is partly linked to a lack of confidence in the quality assurance of applied shotcrete. The concrete technology is now available to make the shotcrete work and perform any way required. Hydration control, alkali free accelerators, curing by admixture, w/c-ratio between 0.3 and 0.4 and very high early and final strengths are key words in this context. In combination with modern equipment, like the fully computer controlled spraying manipulator and pulsation free concrete pumping with accurate accelerator dosage control, all the possibilities necessary are available. To transfer the advantages into project cost and time saving is a matter of planning and decision making.
