摘要
A comparative study was conducted, using 260 faecal samples and 148 feed-stuff samples, to investigate the semi-solid selective medium DIASALM and a cultural standard method (non-selective enrichment in buffered peptone water and selective enrichment in RAPPA-PORT- VASSILIADIS medium for the detection of the presence of salmonellae. Salmonella spp were isolated from 51 samples (41 faecal and 10 feedstuff samples. Salmonellae were isolated from a further 27 samples (21 faecal and 6 feedstuff samples) using DIA-SALM, and from three-feedstuff samples by only the standard method. The results indicated that DIASALM is suitable for the rapid detection, within 2 days, of salmonella from faecal and feedstuff samples.
