摘要
The aim of the study is to explore the Research and Design (R&D) efficiency of the semiconductor industry in Taiwan from a patent perspective. Six evaluation indices are selected as inputs (total assets, staff numbers, and R&D expenditure) and outputs (return on assets (ROA), earnings per share (EPS), and patent number), and then the 4-year annual data of the listed 42 semiconductor companies of the semiconductor industry in Taiwan are obtained. The Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) is utilized for the efficiency computation among 42 semiconductor companies. Based on the research results, recommendations for semiconductor companies and suggestions for future studies are provided. (C) 2019 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
