摘要
Pediatric pharmacotherapy for 2-and 3-year-olds is not a well-explored area. Psychotropic agents, especially those not approved by the FDA for use in this age group, should only be prescribed after a thorough psychiatric evaluation and careful consideration of other treatment alternatives, This paper describes clinical experiences with guanfacine in four 2-and 3-year-old children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. All four children responded to small doses of guanfacine with improvement in behavior and decreased aggressiveness and destructiveness. When used in small doses, with careful monitoring, guanfacine can be an extremely valuable adjunct to the treatment of infants with aggressive and disruptive behavior.
