摘要
The Macedonian Power System was a component part of the European 400 kV transmission system. At the present time it works isolate from the UCPTE, only connected with the Yugoslav and Greek power system. The connections with the Bulgarian and Albanian power systems are existing or planning on a lower voltage level. As the central area of the Balkan, where are crossing up the transmission systems from North to the South and from East to the West, in a near future Macedonian Power System should to be again a component and important part of the integral European system. At the beginning of the 21-st century, as the consequence of exhausting the coal reserve, Macedonia must to start with activities for substitution the existing thermal power plants with nuclear plants.
