摘要
Although the temperature rise in the are of cut during grinding may be calculated with some confidence for simply shaped workpieces (cylinders and hats), there is little or no way of allowing for the way grinding temperatures may vary locally when a complex form is ground. In this paper, dimensional analysis is used to develop a formula for calculating a temperature concentration factor at geometric discontinuities in workpieces. The numerical factors in the formula are supplied by fitting it to results of a large number of finite element calculations, with examples of its application to two types of industrial process.
