摘要
Optical microfibers and nanofibers are fabricated from ordinary fibers. Due to their unique structure and properties, they been used in many fields for various types of measurements. Moreover, the sensitivity has been enhanced because of the evanescent field induced by the micro- and nano-structures. This review summarizes the basic concepts and fabrication methods of optical microfibers and nanofibers, along with recent progress and relevant applications of these devices.
