摘要
Cogging torque is an attractive case. This is because this torque is consistently under consideration on machines that deal with permanent magnets to generate electromotive force (emf) as its basic excitation. The cogging torque is parasitic, it will block the primary rotation of the rotor, give rise to noise, and vibration thereby diminishing the lifetime of the machine. Reducing cogging torque is transformed into a necessary matter to carry out. In this paper, the reduction of cogging torque is accomplished by segmentation method on permanent magnet of the rotor. Permanent magnets remain split up into two with a particular distance variety to accomplish the design with optimal cogging torque reduction. It furthermore took into consideration the effect of segmentation on magnetic stored energy and induction voltage of the Brushless Direct Current (BLDC) motor. The conclusions brought out with this method, the cogging torque decreased by 90.84%, smaller magnetic stored energy. While the induced voltage will be less if the distance between the segments becoming larger.
