摘要
The general theory of relativity (GTR), the theory of gravitation, was discovered by Einstein as a generalization of the special theory of relativity to include accelerated non-inertial observers. Surprisingly, quantum field theory (QFT), the fundamental theory of subatomic physics, is formulated for inertial observers only. I show that including accelerated observers in QFT suggests inclusion of new non-unitary operators, which allow thermal effects facilitating phenomena like Hawking radiation. The non-unitary operators are from a formulation in complex physics due to Prigogine. The extended QFT with non-unitary operators provides hope that we will find the new theory of quantum gravity in the near future.
