Formation of adsorption complexes in the polymer chains plus dispersed particles system: Monte Carlo simulation

Formation of adsorption complexes composed of polymer chains and particles of the dispersed phase were studied by the Monte Carlo simulation using a lattice model. Conformational characteristics of chains and spatial distribution of the dispersed particles as dependent on the energy of adsorption interaction are considered. It was shown that an effective attraction of polymer chains arises at fairly strong adsorption resulting in the compression of macromolecular coils. Polymer chains adsorbing at the surface disturb uniform spatial particle distribution. A forming adsorption polycomplex exhibits an intermediate (mesoscopic) scale of structural inhomogeneity.
