Towards a new traffic simulator

摘要
We specify in this paper the main guidelines for the construction of a high performance road traffic simulator. This simulator is under development in the HIPERTRANS project, it will be be used for evaluation and implementation of modern traffic control systems. This article is the result of the design process which has established the model requirements and the strategies for the implementation of this high performance simulator. The definitions of the objects and their interactions are presented in a very general form. We have already developed a sequential simulator, and the project is now in its second stage in which connection to UTC systems is being implemented. A parallel simulator will be carried out in the last stage.
