Technique of laparoscopic adrenalectomy

With the advent of minimally invasive techniques, laparoscopic adrenalectomy has been shown to be technically feasible, and it provides a rapid and benign postoperative course. This article describes the important operative aspects of right and left laparoscopic adrenalectomy. Preliminary data of 10 patients undergoing laparoscopic adrenalectomy are presented. Laparoscopic adrenalectomy is the treatment of choice for most benign adrenal lesions. Its role in the management of adrenal carcinoma or pheochromocytomas is under investigation.
