摘要
This paper is about a research that aimed to learn about the spatialization of children in a medium-sized city in the Southeast of Brazil and, thus, what possibilities and constraints present for them in the contemporary world. What are children's spatial experiences in the contemporary setting like? How do they move in the city? How do they conduct themselves in the city? Do we have an independent or a confined childhood? The research carried out through workshops, images, children's productions and dialogues with the researchers recorded and analyzed the relationships of children with the zonal territory and the repercussions of that relationship, living in the urban space as well as the formative process related to the geographic education. Research shows that school education needs to occupy the children's connection with the surroundings and with urban life so they can think about the future of cities.
