A Research on the Practical Ability Training of Tourism Management Professionals in China

With the arrival of mass tourism era, the demands for tourism management professionals are increasing day by day. Along with the development of the Chinese tourism industry, private colleges and universities as an important part of training tourism talents play important parts in China; however, problems of students' employment and personal career development have become increasingly prominent. Lack of practical ability training has become an important factor to hinder the occupation career development, thus, efforts should be taken to enhance tourism management professionals' practice ability, which has become an important task for the teaching reform in private colleges. By taking the Tourism College of Changchun University (hereinafter referred to as Tourism College) as an example, the author puts forward the significance of training practical abilities of tourism management professionals, and provide several suggestions in promoting the education of practical ability of undergraduate students from the perspective of training scheme, teaching condition, teachers' team construction, internships. This paper may provide reference for researches on practical oriented education of private Chinese tourism colleges and universities.
