Plane turbulent impinging jets

This paper outlines a series of works on various air curtain arrangements designed initially to confine heat and smoke locally in case of fire in tunnel-like volumes (zoning strategies). So far unpublished earlier observations made in isothermal situations are provided first. Recent experimental and numerical results obtained from modeling of non-isothermal situations are then given. A brief focus on the dynamics of the impingement region is proposed to conclude.
