摘要
Sleep is a natural cycle for human for discharging fatigue and recovery process. To ensure a better sleep quality, we need a pillow that can suit our body part and bring comfortability, or called ergonomics pillow. However, in the developing countries, such as Indonesia, the implementation of ergonomic pillow is very seldom. This research tried to explore some indicators of ergonomics pillow for Indonesian anthropometry. In addition, this research also discussed the Indonesian consumers' willingness to pay as well as their opinion of applying the ergonomic pillow in hospitals in Semarang, Central Java, Indonesia. Compared with previous similar study in US, about 43.75% and 47.05% of Indonesian body dimensions are significantly differ, consecutively for male and female. Therefore, the ergonomic pillow for Indonesian population must be defined from Indonesian anthropometry dimensions. Such key dimensions of the pillow were stated in the study results. Furthermore, the Indonesian consumers were willing to pay IDR 200,000-250,000 for this pillow. Lastly, about 67.35% of them were agree to apply this ergonomic pillow in hospitals. Further studies are needed to formulate the pillow design and prototype, to test the pillow on Indonesian users, especially in hospitals, and finally to examine the sleep quality of their users.
