摘要
Having an accurate channel model is an important aspect of future mobile radio system development. A basic "standardised" radio channel model has recently been developed by 3GPP to assist its studies of future 5G mobile systems in new mmWave frequency bands above 6 GHz. As the physical radio channel sits below the traditional 7 layer OSI model (i.e. layer "0"), the physical channel is not usually subject to standardisation. For mmWave frequencies the channel behaviour is, in reality, determined very much by the environment and the propagation is very sensitive to the local details. In this paper we illustrate some aspects of the propagation channel and channel model users. The new standard channel models are valuable within their range of applicability; however care should be exercised in usage for some studies of detailed deployment planning or frequency compatibility. {01Vc}
