摘要
Menopause is a phase in a woman's life often marked by new symptoms which determined their quality of life. The gynaecologist is the leading reference during this period. The increase in life expectancy, the change in behaviour and daily habits, as well as the improvement in diagnosis and sanitary assistance, have contributed greatly towards making menopause merely a step more in a woman's life. It is, therefore, crucial that the gynaecologist integrates the female patients in healthcare programmes during this period in their lives, in order to identify symptoms and illnesses, which could be curable; and also to contribute efficiently in the improvement of the quality of life of the patients.
