摘要
This work presents a summary of the methodology and the process of development of MARK IV, a software which is part of the Energy Use Control for Cost Reduction project. This system quantifies several kinds of end uses of energy, both technically and economically, and furnishes the entrepreneur with results that will enable a thorough evaluation of the company's equipment from the point of view of energy conservation. From such outcome, every investment to be made, as well as the final results and capital earnings to be achieved, become fully known by the user. MARK IV analyzes the following items: motors; lighting systems and installations; circuit distribution boards; transformers; air-compressors; air conditioners and refrigeration systems; furnaces; boilers; energy losses in pipelines and steam line valves. It also examines the consumer's energy bill.
