Actual plastics applications in the body exterior and trends for the future. Before applying plastics into the body exterior many different vehicle requirements have to be fulfilled. In the choice of capable plastics implicated with a material adequate part design, the drawbacks compared to the metals could be compensated to dominate the advantages of plastics. A material comparison between duromer and thermoplastic materials shows which applications are feasible. In the final part of the presentation several series applications will be presented.
