摘要
An adaptive location management scheme, called as MPA (Mobility Pattern Adaptive) scheme is proposed for the multi-beam GMSS (Geostationary Mobile Satellite System). Compared with the traditional schemes applied in the terrestrial mobile communication systems, a restraining updating strategy will be applied to the low velocity ME S (Mobile Earth Station). Additionally, based on the information theory and data mining algorithm, the high velocity MES will establish a location area visiting list and adjust its updating strategy adaptively based on its mobility pattern which is learned from the visiting list. Simulation results show that the MPA location management scheme proposed decreases the signaling cost on location management significantly. Furthermore, this scheme has a favorable adaptability to the MES with various CMR (Call Mobility Ratio) and maintains a fairly low complexity.
