High Gain Enhancement Off-body Antenna for Underground Mining Communications

摘要
This paper presents a new High Gain Wearable Off-body Antenna based on AMC-FSS technology for underground mine applications at 5.8 GHz. The structure is made of 3 layers, respectively an AMC substrate, a planar monopole and a FSS superstrate. The design achieves a bandwidth of 1.5 GHz, a directivity of 40.7 degrees and a pick gain of 12.33 dBi at the ISM band. The proposed antenna is a good candidate for Off-body underground communication.
