Plasma resonance in granular films of the AgAu alloy

摘要
The frequency of the plasma resonance of granular films made of the silver-gold alloy lies in the region of (3-4) x 10(15) s(-1) between the maxima of absorption bands of granular silver and gold films. The granules of films made of this alloy are similar to silver and gold granules. Upon the iodination of films, the maxima of all absorption bands shifted to the region of (2.5-2.6) x 10(15) s(-1), and gold granules having a porous structure and surrounded by silver iodide were formed. The dielectric constant of the alloy caused by the interband transitions and found on the basis of the additivity principle accounts for the experimental results.
