摘要
The International Council of Museums ICOM has determined the theme of the International Museum Day, which was celebrated on May 18, 2022, as "The Power of Museums". In announcing the theme, ICOM stated that in the 21st century, museums have a high potential to make an impact on the world around them and make the world a better place; it also emphasizes that the power of museums should be used more. ICOM has identified the theme of International Museum Day for 2023 as "Museums, Sustainability and Prosperity". This theme gives an idea about the dimensions of the professional relationship to be established between the museum and the communities and focuses on the theme of sustainability. Museology explains the power of museums with postmodern discourse, museum diversity and changing museum functions. In the last two decades, two new concepts that draw attention from communities in the field of museology: "community museum" and "ecomuseum". Emphasizing the involvement of local residents of the area and the key role of the environment, the ecomuseum expands the traditional definition of the museum from a physical building to an ecoregion that encompasses many villages, natural resources and all people living in that area. Similar to the idea that openair museums are based on, ecomuseum buildings emphasize conservation, focus on cultural diversity and biodiversity, and encourage people to preserve their original habitats rather than move elsewhere and build artificial sites. The concept of ecomuseum also creates a revolutionary development in the field of museology by eliminating the traditional idea of museums based on collections and exhibitions. Ecomuseums focus on the identity of a place based on community participation and seek to improve the associated community and its heritage through agreement. An ecomuseum aims to support a community in managing its heritage, helping it to preserve its resources and traditions, while encouraging tourists and community members to enjoy visiting and using the ecomuseum's grounds. For these purposes, there are many indications that ecomuseums can change biological and cultural environments. In this century, developing countries face many unique challenges affecting the environment, including the economy, postcolonial development and weak governance structures, responses to global climate change, and an impoverished education structure. It is foreseen that ecomuseums can play an important role in mitigating the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has affected the world with these problems. In this study, the Living Museum of the West in Melbourne (Australia), the Ecomuseum of Kalyna Country (Canada), the Ecomuseum of Santa Cruz (Brazil), the Ecomuseum of Asahimachi (Japan) and Casentino Ecomuseum (Italy) were examined in detail in order to consider the power of ecomuseums and highlight their role in creating a sustainable environment and contributing to development. Up to date information on Altinkoy Open Air Museum and Beypazari Living Village Anatolian Open Air Museum in Ankara, Kenan Yavuz Ethnography Museum in Bayburt, Husamettindere Village Ecomuseum in Bolu, Opet Etnokoy Naked Project in canakkale and the Kars Zavot Cheese Museum in the Bogatepe village in Kars have been compiled together with a literature review for studies on ecomuseuming from Turkiye. Based on the examples collected from abroad and Turkiye, suggestions are presented under the headings of planning, research and development, public participation, management plan, landscape, resource and marketing management, promotion and media management, and education management for a new generation ecomuseum model.
